Giraffes

I figured I needed to start this year off right, and what better subject for the very first post of the year on this blog than my favorite animal. :)

Since getting my zoo membership, I have so many pictures that I’ve taken at the zoo over the course of 2011. Some exhibits I ended up visiting more than others. A few places I only visited a couple times, (Sorry Jungle! I’ll see you Saturday!) but the one place I ALWAYS went to, without fail, was the giraffes.

No visit to the zoo would have been complete if I didn’t stop there, even for just a few minutes. Though it was never just a few :)

For this post I’ve gone back through all my pictures from the past year and tried to find a few of my favorite giraffe pictures that had yet to be published.

That wasn’t hard, they’re ALL my favorites. :)

Yes, even these ones. :)

Giraffes are the most beautiful animal in the world. No matter what kind of a weird face they happen to be making. :)

Giraffes in Autumn

Autumn is a great time to visit the zoo. The trees look amazing. Of course, my reason for visiting has more to do with a certain very tall creature, rather than a very tall plant, but with these pictures I got two in one. :)

I love all these shots, but this last one is my favorite.

This time my favorite is this giraffe. I have a ton of pictures of him making gross faces trying to get that branch down. :)

@ The Zoo #1

Quite often when I go to the zoo, I get a lot of pictures where I may only have one or two good ones of a particular kind of animal, not enough to do a whole post on them. I also take pictures of different things around the zoo, buildings, plants, etc, which really don't fit into an animal post. Because of this, I think I will start a semi-regular feature, where I post pictures of a variety of animals, and I‘ll entitle the feature as I have this one, “@ The Zoo”. Here are today’s.
