Whuuuuuuut? A new post? On THIS blog?! It's been like, way over a YEAR! I haven't really had time to "Do Photography," so this blog kind of fell by the way-side. I don't want it to be dead forever, but I can't make any guarantees about regular updates.

Today I have some pictures to share from my (Semi-Recent) trip to Chicago. I had planned to post these on my main blog, but on the day that I took these, we had visited some gardens, and I took a LOT of pictures. Some of them are more "Photograph" than "Vacation Snapshot," so I decided that in order to make my other post a little shorter, I'd come over here and post some of the more artistic ones, for the few people that might care about these, rather than just the pictures of my family enjoying the gardens.

As I am busy with school, I have no idea when I might be back to this blog to make another post, but I will probably have a few more from our trip to Chicago that might make their way over here,I just don't know when...

ENORMOUS!

Do you notice anything about the size of my blog? It has grown! After discovering a bunch of settings I had never played with before, I added a few features below, and changed the size, so I can now upload even bigger pictures than before! To properly display the size, today’s post will feature things that are BIG!

Update 9/10/11: The photos are no longer quite as large, as I redesigned my blog recently, they are still bigger than the average blog though!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oak Ridge Habitat Area

Not too far from where we live, there is a nature reserve. Today I decided to go there and take some pictures. These are my best ones. I may go back again later in the season. I’m hoping there will be some flowers blooming I can take some pictures of.

This is the sign posted at the entrance.

I tried a few interesting shots of my car. This was the only one worth keeping.

 

I found some interesting rocks on the driveway.

 

 

 

I got so many of this tree. It was hard to decide which ones to keep and which ones to get rid of.

The textures were so interesting to look at.

This one turned out much better than I had hoped. I’m really happy with it.

I love my zoom lens. This would not be possible with the regular kit lens.

 

 

 

Yes, the shadow is in there on purpose.

 

I love this one.

I hope I didn’t fry my eyeballs too badly getting these pictures with the sun in them.

This one was so hard to get. This was my best one of this little bug, and it’s still a little blurry.
